Many of you ladies will know me as the self employed Bowen Therapist, living in the Alentejo but working here on the Algarve. You may not be aware that I had a career in the Television industry in London for 13 years, in Technical Operations and latterly in Management and Special Projects. In 2000 I decided I had achieved all that I could and I moved to America and started a new Villa Management company that I ran all aspects of, until I decided to relocate to Portugal in 2006.
At that time I knew no one and living near Beja had to overcome the problem of trying to establish myself in a new career, to work in a strange country and in a location that I did not live in. How to leap these hurdles…?
Thankfully I met someone who told me about the Ladies NETWORK group and that became a major influence and support to me for meeting people, gaining advice and help as to how I could integrate and establish myself in the Algarve. I have met some truly inspirational women through the group for which I am deeply thankful, many, I'm sure, will remain lifelong friends. This year I would like to give something back to the group as one of your Vice Presidents for Network West. In keeping with my past as a discoverer of issues, problem solver and implemented of new initiatives, I have 2 specific aims:-
Understand what you want from the Network group, the things that you like and want more of and the things that are less interesting. The group exists for US ALL, for it to work we need
to know what we want from it!
Help find ways to encourage new ladies to enter this group and understand and enjoy the benefits of doing so and being a part of ‘’us’’.
Remember, we are all NETWORK, your views are important and I look forward to hearing from you and working towards giving you more of what you want the Association to be.
